What You Will Do 

The Opportunity:  
  
The FX & Markets vertical within Agoda’s Treasury Team at its core is responsible for ensuring Agoda’s foreign currency exposures are hedged and that its foreign currency bank accounts are funded to ensure day-to-day operations.  
 
During this internship, you will get a broad overview of the Treasury and Finance function at Agoda, but your primary focus over the nine weeks, will be learning how to be an FX trader for a travel technology leader. In this role, you will learn what business activities generate foreign currency exposure for Agoda. You will become familiar with the full life cycle of a FX trade, including execution, settlement, and matching. You will become familiar with our bank account and counterparty bank account structure and learn the cash flow from and to Agoda. You will learn about e-wallets, VCC, and the exciting and often confusing ‘lingo’ of the FX market.  
 
The ideal candidate will have an interest in learning how to trade financial products, an interest in Asian economies, and someone who considers them self technically savvy – an expert of Excel formulas.  
 
In this Role, you’ll get to:   

• Learn how Agoda calculates its exposure in 25+ different markets and understand the full flow of day-to-day business activities that creates those exposures.  
• Learn how to hedge Agoda’s exposures via FX spot, forward and non-deliverable forward trades and gain an understanding of products including derivatives that can be used to hedge.  

Required Skills and Abilities 

• Able to do the internship from 27th of May to 2nd August 2024 (10-week program). 
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related discipline with a strong academic record.   
• Fluent in English both spoken and written.  
• Excellent communication, comprehension, and computer/technical skills.  
• Genuine interest in financial markets, if you have personal experience investing in crypto, foreign exchange, or stocks that would be beneficial.
