Drive System Engineer Intern

The Programme

Korat Drive System Engineering – Contain of 5 job functions (Read/Write (R/W), Head Media Electrical (HME), Drive Servo (SVO), Drive Mechanical (MECH) and Head Disk Integration Group (HDIG).  
 
Overall assignment is a Hard Disc Drive (HDD) technical support team that work closely with product engineer, design center and reliability team to solving HDD problems, improving product quality, yield and test-time in related field of each function.

What You Will Do

• Provide direct support and collaborate with Drive System Engineers Team to solving Hard Disc Drive (HDD) problems, improving product quality, yield and test-time in related field or some function. 
• Assist and/or initiate to the drive’s test process, generate process improvements ideas and actively participate in development concepts. 
• Candidate required to work in at least one of these fields with mechanical and electrical failure (MFA, EFA) with programing analysis apply by using Seagate’s HDD tools, technical specialists as required is. 
• Collaborate with other department such as IT / design or upstream component to understand and fix the related problem for quality, yield improvements and cost effectiveness. 
• Continue improving technical knowledge of yourself in system engineer job function and related field.

• Excellent interpersonal, planning, organization and team skills, training and presentation skills. 
• Able to prioritize multiple task/projects, manage conflicting deadlines and work effectively in a dynamic environment. 
• Ability to work across multiple teams and collaborate effectively. 
• Excellent problem-solving skills. 
• Good Engineering verification and evaluation skills. 
• Fluent in English communication both spoken and written.

Your Experience Includes:

• Microsoft Office, JMP, MATLAB, computer programing (SQL, C, Python, C, C++ and Visual Studio). 
• Knowledge and understanding in signal and electrical system, circuit and oscilloscope for signal analysis. 
• FEA analysis, ANSYS programs, solid works CAD and ability to simulate material tolerance / dimension / material properties. 
• Knowledge web design, machine learning and deep learning to adaptive big data system and adaptive with systematics monitoring.

Our Korat facility is our largest manufacturing site worldwide, with almost 20,000 employees. Here, our team produces cloud-based storage equipment, from individual storage components to finish drives.
