Material Science/Chemical Engineering Intern

The Programme

Process Technology Development (PTD) is performing HAMR (Heat-Assisted Magnetic Recording) development and all the cleanroom processes.  
 
The processes in the cleanroom consist of Lithography as well as high vacuum deposition, etching system and cleaning process development. Our team is developing new slider processes or technology to meet future product roadmap requirements.

What You Will Do

  • Perform new Material/Chemical testing of slider/HGA cleaning process including adhesive for head bonding.  
  • Analysis/Improvement of new Material/Chemical for slider/HGA cleaning. 
  • Finding new Material/Chemical for HDD cleaning detergent & adhesive bonding improvement.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Open-minded and positive attitude.  
  • Ability to effectively plan, control and take responsibility for timeline and status update.  
  • Proficient technical background with an understanding of process design, engineering and chemistry including familiarity with surface chemistry lab analysis metrology equipment such as Ion Chromatography (IC), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Liquid Particle Counter (LPC), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), RAMAN. 
  • Active learner. 
  • Active listener and self-confident. 
  • Good at English. 

Your experience includes:

  • Knowledge of Material Science / Chemical Engineering. 
  • Ability to effectively understand and interpret engineering Material/Chemical. 
  • Understanding of Material/Chemical for adhesive and / or cleaning process. 
  • Experiment in the laboratory for Material/Chemical analysis. 
  • Ability to collect and analyze data and problem-solving.
