PTD Engineering Intern - Software Engineering/Computer Science

The Programme

Our organization is known as Process Technology Development (PTD) and is located at Seagate Korat Slider Factory.  
 
We are looking for an Engineering intern to take responsibility for mechanical process technology development focusing on diamond abrasive lapping development to support surface finish and critical dimensional control of magnetic transducer.  
 
Our team’s mission is to develop new slider processes and technology to achieve Best-In-Class performance in various mechanical CTQs (Critical to Quality) to meet current & future product roadmap requirements.

What You Will Do

  • Be responsible for supporting mechanical process & technology development to meet new product roadmap requirements and to meet Best-In-Class performance in mechanical CTQs for new product by improving current diamond abrasive lapping capability & performance. 
  • Exploring various solutions for critical dimension sigma improvement and abrasive diamond density detection. 
  • Be assigned additional tasks.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Good problem-solving skills. 
  • Able to develop ideas and processes and clearly express them. 
  • High degree of independent judgement. 
  • Fluent in English.

Your experience includes:

  • Experience with Physics, Computer Science or Computer Engineering. 
  • Excellent computer skills and strong analytical background. 
  • Understanding of mechanical process design.
