Legal Intern

The Programme

The Legal Trainee will be a member of the Legal Department and assist the Company’s legal team (including the General Counsel) with several areas of focus, including conducting legal research, legal entity management, corporate governance, contract review and negotiation, and other corporate transactions.

What You Will Do

  • Conducting legal research in various areas of law. 
  • Drafting, filing, and managing various business entity documents for corporations and partnerships with state agencies, including drafting and preparing formation documents, board minutes, actions by consent, name changes, etc.; maintaining and updating corporate minute books. 
  • Statutory registrations and filings. 
  • Corporate secretarial requirements. 
  • Maintain and update corporate records. 
  • Review and negotiate contracts such as non-disclosure agreements, service agreements and statements of work. 
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams on external and internal reporting requirements, routine, and operational matters as well as special projects. 
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders regarding risks presented by contract terms and possible strategies to mitigate such risks.  
  • Organization of records and file materials within various electronic document management systems. 
  • Effective problem solving and critical thinking skills along with the ability to use discretion and good judgement.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Up to 1 year work experience in the legal profession. 
  • Undergraduate law student in your senior year or fresh graduate (Law). 
  • Understand how your daily work contributes to the priorities of the team and business. 
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to personal learning and development. 
  • Excellent organization skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, and time management skills. 
  • Proficiency in Excel, MS Suite programs and related software packages. 
  • A team player with a strong work ethic.
